How To Add Admins In Abiotic Factor

Keeping your server running smoothly means controlling who has admin access and managing player permissions effectively. In Abiotic Factor, you can grant administrative privileges using either an Admin Password or by editing the Admin.ini configuration file.

Using An Admin Password (Recommended)

1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your Abiotic Factor server.
2. In the sidebar go to Startup Parameters.
3. Under Basic, set an Admin Password then Restart your server.
4. Connect to your server.
5. Press Esc to open the menu and select Player Management.
6. Click Admin and enter your Admin Password.

Setting Yourself As An Admin In Abiotic Factor

Prefer a file-based approach? This method works as an alternative if you don't want to use an Admin password.

1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your Abiotic Factor server.
2. In the sidebar click on File Manager.
3. Navigate to the AbioticFactor/Saved/SaveGames/Server/ folder.
4. Here, find the file named Admin.ini.
5. Add a new entry on its own line in SteamID64 format. Your Admin.ini file should look like this:

Moderator=76561847366341655

6. Restart your server.

Access the Admin Menu

Once you've set up your admin access using either method above, here's how to access the admin menu in-game.

1. Connect to your Abiotic Factor server.
2. Press Esc to open the menu.
3. Click Admin.
