Death penalties control what happens to your items when you die. Adjust this setting to match your server's difficulty level—whether you want a forgiving experience or a hardcore survival challenge.
Changing Death Penalties
- Access the GhostCap Panel and
Stopyour Abiotic Factor server. - In the sidebar go to
Startup Parameters. - Under
Basic, find theDeath Penaltysetting and select your desired option. Restartyour server.
Death Penalty Options
| Option | Description |

| Keep All Items | Players retain all items upon death |
| Keep Equipped Items And Hotbar | Players keep equipped items and hotbar items |
| Keep Hotbar Only | Players only keep items in their hotbar |
| Keep Equipped Items Only | Players only keep equipped items |
| Lose All Items Including Hotbar | Players lose all items but items remain in the world |
| All Items Are Destroyed | All player items are permanently destroyed |
