How to Configure Sandbox Settings on Your Abiotic Factor Server

Customize your server's gameplay mechanics and survival settings

Fine-tune your Abiotic Factor server to match your preferred playstyle. With sandbox settings built directly into the GhostCap panel, you can easily adjust enemy spawns, survival mechanics, player progression, and more—all without editing config files.

Configuring Your Abiotic Factor Server

  1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your server.
  2. In the sidebar, go to Server Options.
  3. Edit the settings you'd like to change.
  4. Start your server.

Abiotic Factor Settings List

AllowCharacterResetControls whether players can reset their jobs, skills, and traits later in the game. Values: true/false
AllowIronModeRequires Hardcore Mode. If enabled, players have access to a starting job called Iron Mode, which makes the game much harder: fewer perk points, fewer perks, no health regen, and no receiving recipes from other players. Values: true/false
AllowPagersControls whether pagers are useable in inventory or via emote wheel. Values: true/false
AllowRecipeSharingControls whether players can share item recipes with each other. Values: true/false
AllowTransmogControls whether players can transmogrify armor appearance using base equipment. Values: true/false
BaseInventorySizeSets the default inventory size when no backpack is equipped. Default: 12
BonusPerkPointsDetermines how many additional perk points are available on top of the points given by each selected job. Negative values deduct available points. Default: 0
BridgeSupportsAmount of support required for bridges to function properly. Values: No Support Required/1-2 Support levels
ContinenceSpeedMultiplierControls how fast continence drains. Higher values require more frequent toilet use. Min: 0.0 Max: 2.0
DamageToAlliesMultiplierControls player vs player damage as proportion of normal damage. Must be 100% or higher for PvP combat. Min: 0.0 Max: 3.0
DayNightCycleSpeedMultiplierSpeed multiplier for day/night cycle. Higher values make time pass faster (doesn't affect other cooldowns). Min: 0.1 Max: 3.0
DayNightCycleStateControls the day/night cycle. Disabling may cause unforeseen consequences as some items are only available during certain times. Values: Normal/Always Day/Always Night
DeathPenaltiesDetermines what penalties players receive for respawning after death. Values: Keep All Items/Keep Equipped Items & Hotbar/Keep Hotbar Only/Keep Equipped Items Only/Lose All Items Including Hotbar/All Items Are Destroyed
DetectionSpeedMultiplierControls how fast enemies detect players. Values above 1 increase detection speed. Min: 0.1 Max: 3.0
DisableResearchMinigameIf true, removes research minigames and unlocks recipes immediately. Values: true/false
DurabilityLossOnDeathMultiplierControls how much durability is lost on death/respawn. Min: 0.0 Max: 1.0
EnemyAccuracyDetermines how accurate enemies are on average. Higher accuracy means enemies group their shots tighter on their target. Values: Pathetic/Low/Default/High/Precise
EnemyDeployableDamageMultiplierControls how much damage enemies deal to deployables/bases. Min: 0.1 Max: 5.0
EnemyHealthMultiplierMultiplier for enemy health. Lower values make enemies easier to kill. Min: 0.75 Max: 3.0
EnemyPlayerDamageMultiplierControls how much damage enemies deal to players. Min: 0.25 Max: 3.0

FoodSpoilSpeedMultiplierDetermines how fast food spoils. Controls decay rate of food items. Min: 0.0 Max: 2.0
GameDifficultyDetermines enemy presence, aggression, and reaction speed in combat. Harder difficulties override dynamic difficulty. Values: Normal/Hard/Apocalyptic
HardcoreModeIf enabled, characters only have one life and difficulty is forced to Apocalyptic. Dead scientists can spectate others or quit, and admins can choose to revive them if required. Values: true/false
HomeWorldsAllows access to Home World portal worlds including free and DLC worlds like Torii. Values: true/false
HostAccessPlayerCorpsesControls whether host can access inventory items in Death Bags dropped by players. Values: true/false
HungerSpeedMultiplierControls how fast hunger increases. Higher values require more frequent eating. Min: 0.0 Max: 2.0
InvisibleRadiationIf enabled, radiation shows no screen effect, requiring scientists to use Geiger Counters to track radiation in an area. Values: true/false
ItemDurabilityMultiplierControls item durability. Higher values make items last longer. Min: 0.1 Max: 10.0
ItemStackSizeMultiplierMultiplier for how many items can stack in inventory slots (excludes non-stackable items). Min: 1.0 Max: 30.0
ItemWeightMultiplierControls how heavy items are in inventory. Lower values make items lighter. Min: 0.0 Max: 5.0
LootRespawnEnabledIf true, resources will spontaneously respawn around the Facility (excludes furniture). Good for public servers but can cause object intersection. Values: true/false
PlayerFurnitureDestructionIf enabled, player-built furniture is destroyed when it reaches zero durability. Values: true/false
PlayerXPGainMultiplierControls XP gain rate. Above 1 = faster XP, below 1 = slower XP, 0 = no skill leveling. Min: 0.0 Max: 3.0
PowerSocketsOffAtNightControls whether power sockets are shut off at night. Setting to false makes the game easier as batteries aren't required. Values: true/false
RadiationDealsDamageIf enabled, radiation actively deals damage to health. Values: true/false
RefrigerationEffectivenessMultiplierDetermines effectiveness of refrigeration and how well hot items maintain temperature. Min: 0.0 Max: 2.0
ShowDeathMessagesControls whether players are notified when someone is killed. Values: true/false
SinkRefillRateAdjusts how quickly sinks refill over time. Higher values = faster refill. Setting to 0 disables refill entirely. Min: 0.0 Max: 10.0
StorageByTagIf false, containers are no longer restricted by item type (e.g., refrigerators can store non-food items). Values: true/false
StructuralSupportLimitDetermines how much furniture can be stacked before reaching limit. 0 removes requirement entirely. Value: Number (0 = no limit)
TaintedSinkWaterIf enabled, sink (or similar) water sources that would normally be clean, drinkable water are instead tainted water. Values: true/false
ThirstSpeedMultiplierControls how fast thirst increases. Higher values require more frequent drinking. Min: 0.0 Max: 2.0
