Sometimes, you might want to switch your BeamMP server to a different version. This could be to access new features available in a pre-release version, maintain compatibility with specific mods or maps that require an older version, or troubleshoot issues by reverting to a previous stable release. This guide will walk you through the steps to change your server version using the GhostCap Panel.
Changing Your BeamMP Server Version
Your server must be running BeamMP Server v3.9.0 or newer to be publicly listed in the BeamMP server browser. If you switch to an older version, players will not be able to find your server in the public list and will need to connect directly.
Here is how you can change your BeamMP server to a specific version:
- Find the version number you want to switch to from the BeamMP Server Releases, e.g., v3.9.0.
- Log in to the GhostCap Panel and select your BeamMP server.
- Go to
Server Options. - Change the
BeamMP Server Versionto your desired version (e.g., v3.9.0), then clickSave. - Go to
Advanced>Server Actionsand clickReinstall Server. In theReinstall Server?window, enableBackup Before Reinstall, leaveWipe All Filesoff to preserve your mods and maps, then clickYes, Reinstall Server. - Start your server.
You can verify that the server version has changed by checking the version number in the server console.
Reinstalling the server will preserve your existing configuration, mods, and maps. Only the server executable will be replaced with the new version.
