This guide shows you the advanced way to modify difficulty on your Enshrouded server by editing enshrouded_server.json directly. Use this for full customization of each individual option.
Editing enshrouded_server.json
- Access the GhostCap Panel and
Stopyour Enshrouded server. - Navigate to
Server Optionsin the sidebar. - Locate the
Difficultysetting and selectCustom. - Open the
enshrouded_server.jsonfile viaFile Manager. - Modify gameplay settings under the
gameSettingssection, then restart.
Available Server Settings
The configuration file supports numerous adjustable parameters. Time-related units use nanoseconds (billionths of a second), displayed as minutes in-game.
Key configurable parameters include:
- Player attributes (health, mana, stamina, body heat, diving time)
- Durability and starvation mechanics
- Environmental factors (weather, shroud duration, day/night cycles)
- Crafting and production speeds
- Experience gain multipliers
- Enemy behavior (spawning, aggression, perception, health, damage)
- Boss scaling factors
- Communication settings (text and voice chat options)
Each setting has defined minimum and maximum values or specific acceptable values (true/false or predefined options).
