This guide demonstrates how to activate PvP functionality on your Palworld server, which enables competitive player-versus-player combat.
PvP is a trial feature and is not covered by official support. Some settings may change in future updates.
Enabling PvP
- Access the GhostCap Panel and
Stopyour server. - Navigate to
Server Optionsin the sidebar. - Under
Player, enable these three required settings:bIsPvP=TruebEnablePlayerToPlayerDamage=TruebEnableDefenseOtherGuildPlayer=True
Startyour server.
What Changes When PvP Is Enabled
According to PocketPair's official documentation, PvP activation produces these changes:
- Players can damage one another.
- Hostile Pals trigger when entering opposing player bases.
- Enhanced damage against airborne and mounted creatures.
- Reduced damage affecting summoned and stationary base Pals.
- Cross-guild chest access becomes available.
- Diminished melee effectiveness against structures owned by other players.
- Expanded defensive ranges for base Pals with increased spacing requirements.
- Attack notifications activate with building/repair restrictions during raids.
- Certain weapons receive adjusted range and damage statistics.
Recommended PvP Settings
PocketPair recommends the following values for a balanced PvP experience. Each can be set in Server Options; see our Configuration guide for the full settings list.

Banning Fast-Movement Gear
To ban fast-movement Pal Gear and Grappling Guns, set DenyTechnologyList in Server Options to:

PvP Rewards Settings
These settings let you build custom game modes where players collect Champion's Emblems from kills.
