How To Change The Seed On Your Terraria Server - Terraria Guide

This guide will help you modify the world seed on your Terraria server. Seeds determine how the world generates, allowing you to share or replay specific world layouts, or enable secret world modifiers.

Changing The World Seed

Changing a world seed requires the creation of a new world!

Log in to the GhostCap Panel and Stop your Terraria server.
Navigate to File Manager and open config.txt.
Locate the seed setting, modify it to your desired seed, and save.
In the sidebar, access Server Options.
Under Basic, change World Name to generate a new world.
Go to Console and Start your server.

Special World Seeds

Terraria supports several special seeds that change how the world generates:

5162020 — Drunk world
not the bees
for the worthy
celebrationmk10
the constant
no traps
dontdigup
getfixedboi

Secret World Seeds (1.4.5+)

Caution

Secret world seeds do not work as provided and will conflict with world generation on dedicated servers, unless all server settings match.
