How To Configure Your Terraria Server

Learn how to edit settings on your Terraria server using the game panel and config.txt file.

This guide covers how to edit settings on your Terraria server, including basic configuration through the game panel and advanced configuration by manually editing the config.txt file.

Basic Server Configuration

Basic settings such as Max Players, Server Type, Difficulty, and more can be configured directly in the game panel.

  1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your server.
  2. In the sidebar, click Startup Parameters.
  3. Edit the setting you want to change.
  4. Start your server.

Manual config.txt Configuration

If you want to configure advanced settings not included in Startup Parameters, you can manually edit the config.txt file on your server. This gives you detailed control over server settings.

Each setting will also include a helpful description of what it does.

  1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your server.
  2. Go to File Manager.
  3. Open config.txt.
  4. Adjust your desired settings and then click Save.
  5. Start your server.
