By default, Vintage Story servers (version 1.20+) are private and invite-only. If you want other players to find and join your server through the public server list, you'll need to enable server advertising.
Making Your Server Public
- Access the GhostCap Panel and select your Vintage Story server.
- Navigate to
Console. - Type
/serverconfig advertise onto enable server advertising. - Type
/serverconfig whitelistmode offto disable whitelist mode. - Restart your server.
Tip
After enabling advertising, your server may take several minutes to appear in the public server list.
Keep in mind that a public server allows anyone to connect. To maintain control over who joins your server, you can keep whitelist mode active and manually approve friends and trusted players.
