How To Update Your Vintage Story Server

Vintage Story servers update through a reinstallation process rather than automatic updates. Don't worry - this method keeps your world data, mods, and configuration settings intact.

Updating Your Vintage Story Server

1. Access the GhostCap Panel and Stop your Vintage Story server.
2. In the sidebar, navigate to Server Options.
3. Find the Release branch setting and ensure it's set to stable.
4. Find the Release version setting and ensure it's set to latest.
5. Navigate to Advanced > Server Actions in the sidebar and click Reinstall Server. In the Reinstall Server? window, enable Backup Before Reinstall, leave Wipe All Files off to keep your world data, mods, and config, then click Yes, Reinstall Server.

Your server will update to the latest stable Vintage Story release.
