How To Upload An Existing Vintage Story Save To Your Server

Finding Your Save Files

  1. Launch Vintage Story.
  2. Select Single-player > Open Saves Folder.
  3. Make a backup copy of the world save you want to transfer.

Save files are stored in the following directory:

AppData/Roaming/VintagestoryData/VintageStory/Saves/

World saves use the .vcdbs file format.

Uploading Your World

  1. Access the GhostCap Panel and stop your Vintage Story server.
  2. Go to File Manager.
  3. Navigate to the data/Saves/ folder and remove any existing world files.
  4. Upload your .vcdbs world save to this directory.

Enabling Your World

  1. Access the GhostCap Panel and select your Vintage Story server.
  2. Navigate to File Manager and enter the data folder.
  3. Open serverconfig.json to edit it.
  4. Locate the SaveFileLocation entry and change it to match your uploaded save file's name.
  5. Save the configuration file and restart your server.

Your transferred world is now running on your server.
