At GhostCap, we've integrated 7 Days to Die settings directly into our game panel, so you can effortlessly change settings such as zombie speed, max zombies, difficulty, server name, and more. Otherwise, 7 Days to Die settings are normally changed in the serverconfig.xml file.
Configuring Your 7 Days to Die Server
- Log in to the GhostCap Panel and select your 7 Days to Die server.
- In the sidebar, go to
Server Options. - Edit the settings you'd like to change.
- Restart your server.
If you want to manually customize your server using the serverconfig.xml file, you can disable File Parser in Configuration > Startup Parameters.
This will stop our panel from writing to your serverconfig.xml file, and you will need to manually configure your server correctly. You should only consider this if you know what you're doing, as incorrect configuration will make your server unable to start.
Importing Sandbox Codes (v3.0+)
Since the 3.0 update, 7 Days to Die bundles its more detailed difficulty and gameplay settings into a single Sandbox Code. You generate the code in-game, then paste it into your server to apply your custom gameplay settings. This is the only way to customize most gameplay settings on v3.0+ versions.
You can build the code in-game using the steps below, or use our free 7D2D Sandbox Code Generator to configure all 150 settings in your browser.
- Open 7 Days to Die and click
New Gameon the main menu. - Click

- In the sidebar, go to
Server Options. - Under
