How To Update Your Hytale Server

GhostCap Hytale servers automatically check for updates every 30 minutes.

To apply any available updates, simply restart your server.

Updating Your Hytale Server

1. Log in to the GhostCap Panel and select your Hytale server.
2. Click Restart to check for and apply any available updates.
3. Once the server has restarted, open Console in the sidebar and check the startup output to confirm the new version number is shown.

Your server will automatically download and install the latest Hytale version during the restart process.

FAQ

Do players need to update their game after a server update?

Yes. Players must update their Hytale client to the same version as the server, otherwise they will not be able to connect.

Will updating wipe my world or player data?

No. Updates only replace the server files. Your world, player data, and settings are kept.

My server won't start after an update. What should I do?

Mods are the most common cause. A mod built for an older version can stop the server from loading, so check your Console output for errors, then remove or update any outdated mods. See our install mods guide for where mods are stored and how to manage them.
