Configure Creative Mode on Your Minecraft Server

Configure creative mode settings for your Minecraft server

Creative mode provides players with unlimited resources, instant block breaking, and flight capabilities, making it ideal for building projects and experimenting with redstone mechanisms. You can set creative mode as your server's default or assign it to specific players.

Here's how to enable creative mode on your Minecraft server.

Setting Creative Mode as Default

  1. Log into your GhostCap panel and stop your Minecraft server
  2. Navigate to the Files section
  3. Open the server.properties file and locate gamemode=
  4. Change the value to creative and save the file
  5. Start your server to apply the changes

Changing Individual Players to Creative Mode

Method 1: Through Server Console

  1. Connect to your server as normal
  2. Access your GhostCap panel and select your Minecraft server
  3. Go to the Console section
  4. Enter gamemode creative YourUsername to switch that specific player

Method 2: In-Game Command (For Operators)

If you have OP/Admin permissions on your server, simply type /gamemode creative in the game chat to switch your own mode instantly.

What Creative Mode Offers

Creative mode grants infinite blocks from the creative inventory, eliminates fall damage, allows flight, and enables instant block breaking. This makes it perfect for large building projects, testing game mechanics, or educational environments where resource gathering would be counterproductive.
