How To Fix Hytale Slow Connection & World Not Loading on Server

Having trouble connecting to Hytale servers? If your singleplayer works fine but multiplayer is painfully slow or the world won't load, you're likely experiencing a network driver issue.

This guide will walk you through fixing slow connections and world loading problems when joining Hytale servers.

Symptoms

You might be experiencing this issue if:

  • Your internet connection is generally stable and fast (YouTube videos play fine)
  • Singleplayer worlds load and play normally
  • Connecting to a server or friend is extremely slow
  • The world doesn't load when you join a server
  • Your friend can see you move but you can't do anything on your end
  • You're on Windows

What Causes This Problem?

Some network devices, particularly Intel and Realtek adapters, have rare driver issues with the QUIC protocol that Hytale uses. QUIC is a modern network protocol that isn't always fully supported by older or buggy network drivers.

This is a known issue that affects both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, and it's unlikely to be fixed with a driver update.

How To Confirm This Is Your Problem

Before diving into the solutions, you can verify this is affecting you:

  1. Connect an Ethernet USB dongle to your computer
  2. Try connecting to the Hytale server through that adapter
  3. If it works, follow the solutions below for your main network adapter

How To Access Network Adapter Settings

Before trying the solutions, you need to access your network adapter properties:

  1. Open the Start Menu and type "View network connections"
  2. Click the Control Panel link that appears
  3. Find and select the network connection you use for internet (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
  4. Right-click and select Properties
  5. Click Configure
  6. Go to the Advanced tab

Now try each solution below, testing your connection after each one.

Solution 1: Disable Priority & VLAN

This is the simplest fix and works for many users:

  1. In the Advanced tab, find Priority & VLAN
  2. Set it to Priority & VLAN Disabled
  3. Click OK and wait for your internet connection to restore
  4. Try connecting to the Hytale server again

Solution 2: Disable Receive Segment Coalescing

If Solution 1 didn't work:

  1. Find Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv4) and set it to Disabled
  2. Find Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv6) and set it to Disabled
  3. Click OK and wait for your internet connection to restore
  4. Try connecting to the server again

Solution 3: Disable Power Saving Features

Still not working? Try disabling these power-saving and optimization features:

  1. Set Advanced EEE to Disabled
  2. Set ARP Offload to Disabled
  3. Set Energy-Efficient Ethernet to Disabled
  4. Set Flow Control to Disabled
  5. Set Green Ethernet to Disabled
  6. Click OK and wait for your internet connection to restore
  7. Try connecting to the server again

Solution 4: Full Network Adapter Reset (Nuclear Option)

If none of the above solutions worked, you'll need to apply a comprehensive set of changes. Warning: This is invasive and may be difficult to reverse without reinstalling your network driver.

Set these values in your network adapter's Advanced tab:

SettingValue
Advanced EEEDisabled
ARP OffloadDisabled
EEE Max Support Speed1.0 Gbps Full Duplex
Energy-Efficient EthernetDisabled

Click OK and restart your computer before testing.

Still Having Issues?

If you've tried all the solutions and still can't connect:

  1. Consider using a USB Ethernet adapter as a workaround
  2. Check if your network adapter has a newer driver available
  3. Try connecting from a different computer to rule out server issues
